1. How did you start blogging? Why do you keep at it?
As soon as I heard of blogging I knew it was for me. I've always been a bit of an exhibitionist, and when asked what my dream job would be, a syndicated editorial columnist, or "paid philosopher" is what I respond. Since I could never see that happening, this was the next best thing, just open my coat and expose myself to the world and see what happens.

Even though I realized I didn't have enough to say as a political pundit, I keep at it, even when it's mostly personal, because journaling has always been something I've done, and doing it online makes it all the easier. Although I don't write about deeply personal things as I would in a handwritten journal, I think the things I do write about will be things I'll want to look back on in years to come. Any writing is a worthwhile venture, and if someone stops by and reads it, so much the better.

2. What are your most important issues?
Women's self-image is one of my big topics. I find the way women are portrayed in the media is absolutely disgusting and I've blogged about it several times. Getting GWB out of the White House is, of course, another big issue, but then it can't help but be with any feminist.

3. What's the nicest recognition you've ever received from the media and/or the blogosphere?
Going out to technorati and searching on my blog and finding out how many people link to me. It amazes me from time to time.

4. Who is your audience? What is unique about your blog?
My audience is mostly my friends and family, and the larger community of people who stop by once for a visit, decide they like what they see and come back.

5. Most frustrating aspect of blogging?
Finding the time to write. And being able to really express what I want to say the way I want to say it. It's much more difficult than I thought it would be. Once written, sometimes I reread and realize that the points I was trying to make just don't come out the way I want.

6. What's the one point you'd like a reader to take away from your blog- the one thing for them to really "get"?
The the personal and political are intertwined and one does not exist without the other.
