We Won't Shut Up!
OK, this page has one goal - to assert that women are people. That's it. We will accept nothing less anymore.
We own our bodies, and we won't accept external controls that men never have to think about. We are free citizens and will not defer to any authority but our own consciences and desires. We're tired of tip-toeing around archaic, Puritanical values that have little to do with life or technology in the 21st century. Believe what you want, but don't expect to limit me or my behavior according to your beliefs. I'll choose for myself, thanks.
Pseudo-Adrienne and I will be posting action items where we want to get like-minded people to remind the media and our elected officials women are people. One day, that will be unnecessary. Let's make that happen today.

Just out of curiosity, how does, "53% of the world's population is Female. The Human Race is therefore Female" work? Is the human race really female and exclusive of the male?
"and exclusive of the male" - where exactly did you get that, Palmer? I don't say that anywhere. That's you projecting your masculist fears and values on something you don't understand. Biologically, the male is a variant of what begins as female. Therefore, to say the race is female is inclusive of men. This is in contrast to the oppression and exclusion generally practiced in patriarchal society, in which the male seeks to exclude or dominate women. It's not an opposite of patriarchy, it is an entirely different world view.
Morgaine,
Your statement on the intro page explicitly concludes that the human race is female by virtue of 53% of it being comprised of women and I was wondering why this is. Nowhere in your statement do you allude to sex differentiation in the womb. Your claim on the intro page explicitly rests on the fact that 53% of population is female.
Was your comment about me projecting masculinist fears and values meant to be patronizing? I ask because I don't know you. I think it quite presumptuous of you to take 4 words of mine and deduce the picture of my psychological makeup from it that you did. I implore you, please do not attempt to lecture me, a rank stranger, on what fears and values I may or may not have. All I questioned was how your conclusion fit your premise based on the information given and you saw fit to be critical of me because of information not presented on the intro page. This is a bit like a bait and switch.
I'm sorry that you feel compelled to stereotype and accuse me of projecting (undefined) masculinist fears and values.
Still, all the best to you and Pseudo-Adrienne on the new site.
Take care,
Palmer
Palmer - don't presume to tell me how to behave. Your statement "exclusive of men" prompted my answer, and I stand by it.
I am sorry to see that misandry, fallacious logic, insults, and pop psychology are now the rallying cries of feminism.
"I am sorry to see that misandry, fallacious logic, insults, and pop psychology are now the rallying cries of feminism."
Yes. It's misadrist for women to not defer to men and their views as the default or the superior original, or coddle their feelings, opinions, philosophies, insecurities about giving up absolute power, and oh-so frail egos. Oh, but we're not to pressume that you're misogynist when make the very cliched "feminism=misandry" quips or your subliminal hint-dropping of "unapologetic women who don't cater to men's opinions are shrilling bitches." We've heard and put up with all that shit for too long, and that's the kind of thing that has held women back.
Love this -- you have it *exactly* right. And I am sick
of some of sentiments that have been expressed by people in the Democratic party.
Hope this blog does really well.
