I love it when scientists admit we don't know everything...
Why matter matters in the universe : Media Releases : News : The University of Melbourne
So they know that matter and anti-matter are not equal but they don't know why. And according to what they think they know about physics, life shouldn't be possible. But it is.
They say that according to the Law of Aerodynamics, neither the bumblebee nor the B12 Bomber can fly - whether that's true or not, it's obvious that we still have a long way to go before we can claim we understand our physical reality.

Regarding Scientists admitting they don't know anything - I have found reading scienceblogs.com that they admit this all the time. That is why they are scientists: the search for knowledge and new understanding is the reason they do what they do.
The remark about bumble bees and the Law of Aerodynamics seems ti be a comment made back when they couldn't prove how a bee flies. Since then (and I think this was 20 or 25 years ago) they found that when you change the mass on such a big scale (down to the size of a bee)that the relative density of the surrounding atmosphere changes and so the bee flying is more like a human being swimming. They also changed the law to correct for that.
Here is an article about a woman scientist, Z. Jane Wang, at Cornell who did some research back in 2000 to study insect wings. It has a cool animation of a dragonfly's wing creating the swirls in the air that keep it up.
