update: Part 2 will be up some time soon.

Hey, Y'all-

I've got some comments that I need to respond to and I promised a part 2 for the Parthenogenesis article, but I've got something personal going on that's going to keep me distracted for a few days. If your comments haven't posted, they still might, so be patient and check back next week. I was hoping to post some work from another writer, but that didn't work out so I have to do a lot more work on this than I have time for right now.

In the mean time, I want to say a couple of things. First, while I am certainly a feminist in the sense that I advocate social justice in general and women's rights in particular, but I'm not what I call a "party line feminist." I usually refer to myself as a Matriarchist because while I think equality is the best mode of political functioning, I believe in the natural superiority of women. I'm not going to apologize about that, and I don't particularly care if that suits the equity feminists (what I call "white chick feminism" - women who think there's not really a patriarchy any more) or not. Just because a feminist or an academic published an opinion about something doesn't mean I'm going to agree with their postitions. I reach my conclusions independently, based on the research that I do. Give me a new source and I'll consider it.

Second, I don't publish abusive or angry comments. This is my "house" and while I welcome dissent, as long as it is accompanied by references and reasoned arguments, I won't respond to personal attacks. If you've got something to say, make your case, support your position, but check the anger and the insults. You're a guest here - I want to be respectful of you and your opinions, but that means I expect the same from you.

I'll be back when I can.

Peace~

Dear Morgaine

I stumbled on to your blog and when I read your statement about being a Matriarchist I just had to post. I have begun to the use the word gynocentric as the M word has its detractors. Love the blog, the energy, no wonder you have lasted 5 years.

There are more of us than the Bushies can even fathom and we are exchanging information like wildfire across the face of Turtle Island!
