The Olympics We Missed
The NATION:
"NeoCon Bellowing Corporation"
That phrase sums up how I feel about the whole Olympics deal on NBC. I've never been a sports fan to begin with, but since we've seen that the Olympics are as corrupt as everything else in the world, who cares? I'm sick of fixed games - we have elections for that.
Hey, NBC, you know what I've been watching this week? Law and Order reruns on other channels. YOUR shows, but I went elsewhere to see them because you preempted them for events that shouldn't even be considered sports. How do your advertisers feel about that? I hear the ratings for the "games" has been dismal.
The whole thing is pointless. They should be held in Athens every four years. There should be 6 events, none of which involve skis or ice, and they should compete naked the way they did in ancient times. That would be worth watching. If I want to see dancing evergreens and contortionists in b&d garb, I'll buy a ticket to Cirque du Soleil.

Hello! I just ran across your blog today through a google search. I can't say I agree with everything you have written (which is a good thing because if we thought identically on everything, one of us would not be needed in this world!)... but I can say that I agree with a majority of what you have to say (if not in the specifics, definitely in the generals). I like the way you think. I think you're onto a lot of things that a majority of our society is clueless on (which is greatly sobering and saddening to me... but that's fact... thinking seems to be rare these days). Anyways, I just wanted to let you know I've enjoyed reading your blogs today... and that's coming from a somewhat conservative Christian who still values free thought. I acknowledge that may be rare, but I do consider myself to be one... Anyways, I hope you don't mind, but I think I'll be reading your blog on a more regular basis now that I've found it. I like the mental challenges you present. Bravo to you and many Bright Blessings! ~Mariposa Immortale
