Bush Aide Learned Early of Leaks Probe

A 12 hour Gap

How many documents can you shred in 12 hours? White House Chief of Staff Andrew H. Card Jr. probably has a ready answer for that. See, your Attorney General Alberto R. (it ain't torture if we do it) Gonzales, who was White House counsel at the time, told card at 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, but didn't order anyone not to destroy any documents until 8 a.m. the next day. Has anyone checked the phone records of the local pizza places? I'll bet that was one hell of a shredding party.

Feeling safer yet?
