Blessings to the Angel Isle

My deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers are with the people of Britain today. No one deserves to be killed or maimed that way and the people of
England certainly didn’t deserve this. They had huge demonstrations against the war. The majority of English citizens opposed military action in Iraq. Why the terrorists didn’t see that or care about that, I don’t know.

The criminals here are Blair and Bush. Ordinary working people just trying to get through the day shouldn’t have been brought into this madness. That’s what makes no sense to me about war. Most of the people who suffer have nothing to do with the conflict. 80% of the victims are women and children with no economic interests and no political power.

The 100,000+ Iraqis who died for no discernible reason except oil and war profiteering didn’t deserve to die. They had no connection to the “War on Terror” or to the 9/11 attacks.  Our soldiers — many of whom are National Guard members who should never have been sent outside their own states— are dying for Halliburton, not for freedom or democracy.  The US still hasn’t engaged Al Quaeda for the 9/11 attacks. They claimed to have fought them in Afghanistan, but even that remains to be seen. Osama Bin Laden remains at large. All of Bush’s new bureaucracies haven’t done a damned thing to make the American people safer. Maybe Al Quaeda did accomplish something with 9/11 — America no longer exists as a free democracy. For the price of a false sense of safety we’ve handed our government over to fascists and fanatics, who may be more subtle than our attackers, but are every bit as dire a threat to our society.

The people in London didn’t do anything to Al Quaeda. They tried to stop the invasion of Iraq. This was nothing but butchery. I don’t understand how people claim to do these things in the name of religion, either on the part of the terrorists or the part of the coalition forces. I don’t understand what they hope to accomplish. They have to be stopped.

In the name of everything holy, I pray this is the last slaughter of innocents that ever pollutes the history of humankind.
