Newsweek Retracts Story on Quran Abuse - Yahoo! News

Fuck that. I don't believe for a minute that the report isn't true, and Newsweek are the worst kind of cowards for backing down on it. The idea of Americans being told to shut up infuriates me. The idea of people in American uniforms torturing people and desecrating any kind of scripture makes me ill.

All of this shit goes right back to Rumsfeld and he should be fired yesterday. His fascist response is just one more nail in his coffin as far as I'm concerned. His government career should have ended months ago. I think Americans need to have our own protests to have him removed from office. His policies created this bullshit, and cowing the press isn't going to change that, nor will it make things any better.

I want my country back. I want people of honor in those offices in Washington, people who have read the Constitution and understood its wisdom and its vision. I'm tired of these fascist criminals blaming everyone but themselves for the mess they've made of our foreign relations. I'm tired of their inflated sense of entitlement, their money-grubbing, their lies, their bigotry, their cover-ups, their plunder of our economy and our environment, their divisive tactics and their hateful, elitist policies.

Condoleezza is upset about 15 deaths? How about 100,000 civilians we killed in Iraq for no earthly reason? How about 1600 dead troops, most of whom joined the National Guard and should never have been deployed outside their home states, let alone die on foreign soil?

What's it going to take to get people in this country to WAKE UP!?
