Champagne & Cake Greet Gay Couples On First Anniversaries
by Margo Williams 365Gay.com
(Boston, Massachusetts) The champagne corks popped, the wedding cakes were cut, and Massachusetts celebrated the first anniversary of the first legal same-sex marriages in the country on Tuesday.
Thousands of gay and lesbian couples stood on the steps in front of the State House for an official photograph marking the day. Tuesday was bleak and cold, but that did not camp the spirit.
Praise Goddess! This makes me so happy - it's a small step on a beautiful, much anticipated journey and I'm so proud that it has begun!
