I thought that was extremely neat, even before I found out that it was someone at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences that actually found the tissue.
Sadly, the chances of DNA surviving is even slimmer than the chances of that soft tissue being preserved in the first place. But between this and Willo, the dinosaur with a fossilized heart, NC might get on the dinosaur map.
Yeah, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I hear they already have mastadon meat they are working with. And thanks for mentioning Willo - I'd never heard of her before.
