We were all prepared to hate Ethan. How could anyone possibly come between Justin and Brian - the Super Couple of Cable TV, the virtual Luke and Laura of the New Millenium. We knew from the spoilers that a break up was immanent and we all braced for the sad conclusion to Season 2 of Queer As Folk.
Enter Ethan. Wait - I thought Ethan was supposed to be a villain. Ethan, it seems, is being portrayed by Fabrizio Filippo and he's absolutely riveting. But wait, I'm a Gale Harold fan! And Gale's character, Brian, is the hottest thing on TV - period! He's positively glamorous, if not romantic. Ethan, on the other hand, is ALL about romance. He says exactly what Justin needs to hear, and we surprise ourselves by loving him for it! Ethan is the boy we all hoped to meet in college - confident, talented, and utterly poetic. ( Being female, I'd have hoped he'd be straight, though... OK, maybe Bi) By the time Justin and Ethan share their first kiss, we are thoroughly smitten. And what a kiss - like he's starving, like it's the last time he'll ever kiss anyone, like it's the last thing he'll ever do...
