Everybody knows this, right? It's why so many of us tuned into Queer As Folk to begin with. I decided to include this one as a Morgaine-ism after someone who visited my site said she was going to get a t-shirt that quoted it.
A friend of mine recently said that "gay guys were better to hang out with than girls." I don't know about better, but they are definitely a lot of fun. They'll go to the movies that straight guys won't even consider. They know how to dress, how to dance and how to behave in a restaurant. They've got the coolest lifestyle, the best drugs, no inhibitions and they don't judge you. (They'll judge your outfit, but not you...) They'll go shopping with you, hang out in a museum with you, and encourage you to be your most fabulous self. Whats not to love?
Yes, these are sweeping generalizations. I've known plenty of gay guys who weren't stylish or cool. I've known lots who didn't hang in clubs, weren't young and cute, and one or two who were straight-up miserable. I'm not talking about them. I respect all people, Gay men included. But as a Girl, I reserve the right to love pretty boys, sweet boys, boys who like to have fun and love me for who I am. Finding a straight one would be nirvana. It would also be a damned miracle. So until that miracle happens, I'll stick with my Gay boys. Every girl should have one - right Mimi, Rikka and Shelly?
